Our Southwest

These pictures show a wonderful example of the charm of putting seemingly unrelated furniture together, where the scale, color, and atmosphere or spirit are harmonious. They express individuality. Here we feel is a happy way of life, with household goods from here and there gathered together to give pleasure to their owners. For in these rooms it is taste and not money that we see.

Daylight glass walls

Daylight glass walls are used extensively in modern building and many women, unfamiliar with the interiors of modern houses, wonder what the rooms are like. Well, here, on the opposite page, is such a wall of insulated glass with a free – standing bookcase to the left, forming the library alcove in a large room. There are such bookcase, practically ceiling high, in the better furniture stores, as well as cabinet – and – shelf combinations to be used as complete, or partial, partitions to separate a large space into a living room or a dining room end or, as here, to form a library alcove.
